We are Proud of You!!
Received word today (April 3, 2010) from Uganda that Trace Creek Primary School has been selected from a grant to receive solar panels and a new wood burning kitchen from the Mayuge District office. No other school in the community was chosen. This was based on performance of our students last year. We are proud of the staff and kids there.
TCBM Sprung a Leak
The 10,000 liter tank at Trace Creak Baptist Mission has sprug a leak. The rubber tank has a crack in it that cannot be repaired. This well takescare f approximately 1,200 families in the village. The cost to replace with a 5,000 liter tank is &2,800.00. This includes the crane that will travelfrom Kampala to Trace Creek Baptist Mission in Iganga District. The church and the primary school of 800 children depend on the well for their daily water. Since the well began operation in 2003, we never have had a problem with it. AWhen TonyAdanms and Richard Scoggins saw the swamp water that an old man was getting for drinking water they came back and said that TCBM would have good safe drinking water. A few monthes later, the well was dug. It has been operating for close to 7 years. If we don't get the well fixed, replace the tank; the school and church will be closed. The government of Uganda has placed Trace Creek Baptist Primary School as a model (or example) school for the other schools to follow. We ask each of you to pray that money will come in for a new water tank.
Nason -Deaf Boy From Bodondo Village
We are glad to report that Nason received his first ear exam at Ntinda School for the Blind and Deaf in Kampala. Nason started school no January 18, 2010. If you remember, this young boy is deaf and had seen his father being drowned by some men. Fishermen in the area, rescued Nason from the water, where he was also thrown in. Buddy and Phyllis Ray of Mayfield and Hands of Praise, from Trace Creak Baptist Church, are sponsoring Nason, for one year, at the Ntinda School for the Blind and Deaf. What a blessing they received. We will send pictures of Nason when we return to Uganda.
Interesting Story: Robinnah, Making a Stand For Jesus!!!!
Robinnah Nakasango was married to a polygamous man of three wives. When Robinnah accepted Jesus as her Savior in 2002 through Sherry's Bible study, the husband threatened to stop caring for her and his children if she continued fellowshipping at Trace Creek Baptist Mission. Robinnah continnued worshipping and the hjusband stopped sup;porting Robinnah and their five children.
Later, the husband tried to force Robinnah to recant her salvation if she still wanted to remain his "wife". She refused and the husband kicked Robinnah and her five children out due to Jesus' sake. Praise God that two of her children are being sponsored through the Embracing The Children program - Denis Kasadha and Moreen Kantono.
Robinnah rersides with her five children at Nawanzu Village (trading center) right before yolu get to Trace Creek Baptist Mission. The church is paying the small house rent and medical care for the children. The church offered her a small portion of land at TCBM for her to plant crops for food and this has gone on well.
Filling His Nets is prayerfully seeking a family of families that would like to help sponsor Robinnah and her children. There are several women at Trace Creak Baptist Mission that have left their Muslim husbands and are asking the church for help. The cost for supporting a family would be approximately $40.00 per month to help these women. This will enable them to pay rent, buy food, mosquito nets, soap, and other necessities. We at Filling His Nets Ministry consider these women widows and their children as orphans. The Bible, it tells us to take care of the orphans and widows who are really in need.....1 Timothy 5 tells us about the church's proper treatment of widows.
