EVANGELISM

Jesus Blesses Children- Matthew 19:13-15

The little children were brought to Him put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them, for of such is the kingdom of heaven." And He laid His hands on them and departed from there.

When Jesus welcomed the little children, He was making a major statement to everyone standing by about the value and significance of childre. Unwanted infants in pagan cultures were routinely abandoned on roadsides and garbage dumps. Most exposed infants died, but a few were rescued and raised to become slaves, gladiators, or prostitutes. Children were held in such a low esteem in Jesus' time that some professional beggars collected exposed children, mutilated them, and then used their misery to gain sympathy and thus increase profits from their begging.

We have seen in Uganda, the abuse of many children; children found in garbage pits still alive. A babyn that was found in a swamp with lacerations the the neck where the mother tried to cut its throat. And, of course, human sacrificing, especially with children.                               '

Timothy's House

Many of the children at Timothy's House are now attending St. Peter's School in Jinja. This is the first time that some of the children are receiving an education. A couple of the older children who did go to village school are havingto restart with Primary 1 again and then they will be allowed to  catch up to thier level.

Paul, Irene and Baby Mary have moved to Timothy's House. With more children coming to the children's home. Paul and his family moved to Jinja to help oversee the runnig of the house. This way there will be a father figure for the children along with Mommies. Irene will be carrying out the day-to-day duties of head administrator for the children's home. Paul will have less travel to see the District Probation Officer when doing quartely paperwork on the children.
