EVANGELISM

Jesus Blesses Children- Matthew 19:13-15
The little children were brought to Him put His hands on them and pray, but the disciples rebuked them. But Jesus said, "Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them, for of such is the kingdom of heaven." And He laid His hands on them and departed from there.
When Jesus welcomed the little children, He was making a major statement to everyone standing by about the value and significance of childre. Unwanted infants in pagan cultures were routinely abandoned on roadsides and garbage dumps. Most exposed infants died, but a few were rescued and raised to become slaves, gladiators, or prostitutes. Children were held in such a low esteem in Jesus' time that some professional beggars collected exposed children, mutilated them, and then used their misery to gain sympathy and thus increase profits from their begging.
We have seen in Uganda, the abuse of many children; children found in garbage pits still alive. A babyn that was found in a swamp with lacerations the the neck where the mother tried to cut its throat. And, of course, human sacrificing, especially with children. '
Timothy's House
Many of the children at Timothy's House are now attending St. Peter's School in Jinja. This is the first time that some of the children are receiving an education. A couple of the older children who did go to village school are havingto restart with Primary 1 again and then they will be allowed to catch up to thier level.
Paul, Irene and Baby Mary have moved to Timothy's House. With more children coming to the children's home. Paul and his family moved to Jinja to help oversee the runnig of the house. This way there will be a father figure for the children along with Mommies. Irene will be carrying out the day-to-day duties of head administrator for the children's home. Paul will have less travel to see the District Probation Officer when doing quartely paperwork on the children.

Mission Team
We are going to Uganda in June and have held mission meetings for those who would be interested in going to Uganda, June 14 - June 28th. Richard Nelson and I will be staying longer. We have had a great response. There are teenagers from Liberty Baptist Church, Northside Baptist Church, Chief Cornerstone Baptist Church and His House interested in doing God's work in Uganda. They will be ministering to those in the villages, teaching new programs to our youth, serving in the schools, churches and Timothy's House.

Gods Work That Was Done ......
Who is useful to the Master when it comes to faithful service? Is it only the elderly, those with the most experience? Do not the youth have an important role to fulfill? We can easily become guilty of looking down upon the young. Perhaps by not taking thier obedience to the gospel seriously. perhaps by expecting little of them in regards to service. Perhaps by even preventing them from service bebecause of their age.
While God often used the elderly like Moses and Joshua to fulfill His purpose, there are many examples of God using the young as well. It was through Joseph that God provided Israel a means to survive a famine. Joseph was seventeen when sold as a slave potiphar. God used David to defeat Goliath; even though David was "but a youth". accordig to King Saul- 1 Samuel 17:33 God had David appoint Solomon to succeed him who when he became king, thought of himself as but "a little child" - 1 King 3:7. When eight, Josiah became king, and was a good one - 2 Ch 34:1 35:19. When sixteen, he sought to serve God. When twenty, he instituted religious reforms throughout judah. When he was twenty-six, he restored the temple, and the passover. God uesd Mary to bring a savior into the world who was but a young virgin - Luke 1:16-33. And God used Timothy, selected to join him on his journeys. Who must have been quite young, for it was over twenty years later that Paul tells him to let no one despise his youth! - 1 Timothy 4:12
It should be evident that God has often used youg people to accomplish great things! I believe He can do much through young people today. The young can and should be very active in doing the work of the Lord. We have the example of Jesus Himself, at age twelve - Luke 2:41-49.
We how are older should always be careful to encourage the desire of the young to serve, and let no one despise their youth! We might all ask ourself: "Are we about our Father's business?" Whether young or old, we should be!
